I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people ask what the path is to quick financial success.
Let me tell you now that while improving your financials is definitely a noble pursuit, if the money is all you care about, you will never be happy.
I recommend you start at the base of who you are and improve your health before focusing on your wealth. You know why? Because once you have a positive relationship with yourself, your health, and your money, the wealth will follow.
Here are some ways to set yourself up for success for both your health and wealth.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but many of us in our busy lives forget to take care of ourselves. Self-care means more than just a bubble bath after a rough day—it means taking the time to get extra sleep, making an effort to fuel your body with good food, and learning better ways to manage stress.
Practicing self-care will not only affect your mind positively, but it will improve your overall health.
Your Thoughts Matter
Your thoughts have more power than you realize. You can set yourself up for either success or failure just by the words that you say in your head.
Remember that every thought you have creates an energy that attracts that result to you. In other words, if you think you’re going to struggle financially forever, you probably will. If you believe that it’s possible to build a set of new habits and patterns to live by in your life, then you probably will.
It’s tough to care about your health or wealth if you don’t have goals to reach. I recommend sitting down and setting up weekly, monthly, half year, and year goals that you would like to reach. Each little goal can build up to reaching something bigger by the end of the year.
Make sure that these goals are truly attainable. Start small by saving maybe $10 extra a week to go towards something special at the end of the year.
At the same time, know that both health and wealth take time to build. They do not happen overnight.
